Casita 15

Casita are starting to make a 15’ Patriot, how exciting!
They must have realized they are missing a chunk of the market after stopping production on the 13 and 16.

At least they made it taller. If it still had the short 5'8" stand-up straight height overhead like the older 13's and 16's had, then that would be the "deal breaker" for me. I'm 6'2", and I don't have a good back. I'm not walking around in the trailer looking like Quasimodo! Not happening! But I'll stick to my old 17 footer that I bought back in 2008, (with all the bells and whistles,) for $16K back then.

It says interior height 6’2” so a positive change.

Yeah, that's a step in the right direction.

I am 6'4" and only touch my head to the ceiling of our 17 footer when I have an itch......otherwise......no problem!

Winner! The deluxe could well be the empty nest trailer I didn't know I wanted. A queen-size bed in a 15' length is rare. Parkliner is the only other one I recall.

Odd, though... It mentions a portable electric cooktop, but I can't see anything about a propane built-in option, though there are other propane appliances available (3-way fridge and furnace). I hope that's an oversight.

As I look closer, I'm a little surprised at how little difference there is between the 15' and the 17' in weight and price. A little comparison between the new Patriot and the Liberty (since the Patriot is basically a Liberty with 2' cut out of the bed end).

15' Patriot Deluxe
dry weight 2350#
base price $25K

17' Liberty Deluxe
dry weight 2480#
base price $26K

Price makes sense, since they are similarly equipped and build labor is pretty much the same. I did expect a bit more weight savings. Curious about tongue weight.

Katy’s closet

I’m wondering if Katy’s closet could be installled into the new Patriot.

As a non-Casita owner, I had to google that! You should verify with Casita before committing to anything, but I am quite confident the front bathroom and closet molds and dimensions are identical. It wouldn’t be cost-effective to redesign all the interior molds, just the rear benches, which are relatively simple.

I’d guess they literally cut 2’ out of the middle of a 17’ shell to create the plugs for the 15’er, and that all of the interior modules from the galley forward are the same as the Liberty/Independence models. .
