Casita Club website?

Hi, Just curious - is the Casita Club website no longer active? I looked there for the classifieds - none there. Also, it doesn't look like any new activity since 2017 there. Am I seeing it wrong?

The forums at the site are still active, although not as active as the Casita Travel Trailer forum.

Casita Club is working...was on today. Not much activity these days.....I think the owner has other priorities.

The Casita Club was hit with a source of fake member requests around the end of June 2019 which has been adding upwards of a hundred member requests every day since. That may have something to do with it.

I used to partake of Casita Club, but I found over the last few years it morphed into more of a social gathering type of group which wasn't particularly helpful when dealing with trailer type issues.

What's to post? That site fell off the face of the internet completely, (as in "It's Gone Forever, Cancelled, Kaput, No longer up and running,") several months ago.

But all is not lost. There is a much better Casita site to join if you haven't already:

Although it says you must "subscribe" to participate, it is nothing more than registering. There are no fees involved to join, (but they do accept donations.) It's free to join. Gene (webmaster) will usually approve you and grant you access in less than a day normally.

Not sure why I suddenly can't get on it. My computer says that it's not a secure site, but it always has been, and I'm sure it still is. Gene wouldn't run an unsecured site. I just don't know why it is the only site on the web that I visit regularly that I can't access. I tried to open it using my favorites link, (which I've used for many years. I also just typed in the site and tried to log on using just the standard internet search engine route. Won't let me on no matter what I've tried. Any suggestions? Change some settings? Really at a loss here.

No problem logging onto Casita Forum here; using Safari on my Mac. Try a different browser.

I have a few different web sites all using "Casita Club" or some form of that name bookmarked. I just tried "http://www.casitaclub.com/", one which I used follow but haven't used for awhile and got "We can’t connect to the server at www.casitaclub.com." It does, indeed, seem to be gone. I believe that is the one hit by the phony member applications plague.


Which "Casita Club" site is the OP referring to and which are people referring to as being still able to get into?

I clicked on your link above you posted Donna, (which is the same as the one in my Favorites list,) and I still get the same message popping up that says "This Site Can't Provide A Secure Connection", and won't open it. I don't know what is going on. This just happened 3 days ago, and to my knowledge I haven't changed any of my computer's settings or altered my "Favorites" menu that I always used to access Gene's site for years. Just out of the blue, it suddenly wouldn't allow me to open it. I have no problem logging into any of the other 150 or so bookmarked sites I visit without any problems. It's just Gene's forum that my computer won't allow me to access. Very frustrating.

And yes CAlCop, I regularly dump and clear my internet cache and temp files every time I shut down, so I don't think the problem lies in that. I've also restarted my computer several times as well. Still can't open Gene's site.
