Im going to see if I can find some type of dome cover for the little guy. Here is a couple pics of the new family member.

Did you install the air conditioner yourself?

Few parts and a way to put the headliner up. Headliner glue does not work. It is the origional. They hanged up the layout a bit as well. I love it!

Hi, I know this thread is pretty old but my husband and I got such a kick out of it! Just yesterday we bought a 1973 PlayPac and couldn't be more excited to fix it up. Here are pics, hope that Mr. Whysel sees that another one of his babies will be getting shined up. We bought it from a man just north of Chicago and drove 7 hours to pick her up. We are so excited to be a part of this small club.

Here are some pics, I have them set to public viewing.

I was born in '74 and it's really neat to have a camper from around the time I was born. We should start a PlayPac Facebook group to share photos, rehab tips, etc. There would be what, a dozen of us?

It would be marvelous if you could load some pics of your rig in your albums here. We have very few images of Play Pacs in the galleries and it would be a good help to members. You can find the link to albums and pics in your user cp

You can also set up a registry entry if you like for your trailer. Fiberglass RV - Trailers

Oh cool, didn't realize there was something like that here! Will get myself all set up. We plan on taking a lot of pics and some video of the process. I think I have some pics of our '84 Econline rehab, although I think we only have afters.

Starting a Facebook group would be fun and helpful. It might even bring a few of the underground PP owners aboard. Let me know how I can help. I still have some lit and ads from that era.
Happy trails, PaPac (my daughter's nickname for me)

Steve, be sure to add all that lit here as well! We need to spread all of that as far and wide as possible. I can't wait to see all of it. When our PP is completed we will print all of it up and make a binder of all the lit to store in her so we can show our guests.

Janet, I created my registry and put pics in the gallery. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I did make a Facebook page, but promise to share everything here as well.

so last year I bought one of these little campers from someone on facebook.. I had no idea what I was buying.. all I knew was that I wanted something I could restore and make my own.. so I went and got it brought it home and in my yard it sat till I started to renovate it a few months ago.. This is my question.. the paint job on my PP was odd to say the least.. hopefully I can attach pictures of I t.. and I would like to know if this is by chance the original paint or did someone put this much effort into painting it this way..

They didn't come painted from the factory, I'm 98% sure. It looks like someone was feeling creative.

Hello Playpac Peeps!!! Hey there Steven (Wow!!!)

I have landed a 1973 Playpac that had been serving time as a hunting cabin.

My build thread is in my signature line down below so you can follow along if you like.

I have just today found a source for a 26 inch diameter tinted acrylic bubble to reclaim the hole in the top of my egg!!! It should be here in about two weeks

I have a project 1972 Flat Windscreen Super Beetle just like the one in the magazine add Steven posted. I can't wait to be pulling into a meet with this Bug House in tow.

Plus we camp like crazy and this will be a lot of fun as a camper too.

FASCINATING READ Steven, thank you very very much for the history on my new precious.

Knowing it was built like a fiberglass boat was a tremendous asset in approaching the repairs. Plus - finding out the trim wood was teak BEFORE I ruined it with paint was a blessing... Oil it is, just like on a sailboat.

Too much fun.

Thrilled to hear that another of my "children " will get a new lease on life. I posted some comments on your build thread. I would love to have you and anyone else who loves my Playpac join the Playpac pack group on Facebook. I will accept your request to join.
I hope a Playpac meet in Florida can be arranged while I am still here to revel in such a meet. Remember I am now 78. I have some warm and wonderful stories to tell about Playpac 's history around a big campfire. Happy trails
