I have no problem with overnighting at truck stops. Have stayed at many. They are very convenient and a welcome friend during a long haul, at 8 PM and you're not going to find a real campground.
True, sometimes the spot you park at is in an empty corner but then at 1 am the big boys arrive and you get surrounded. You get serenaded by a half-dozen diesel engines, forever. They often run their engines all night. It happens. Them tall bright
light posts provide security. They make you glad you have dark colored window shades. It could get tricky pulling out in the morning, sometimes. Best to plan ahead for that. But breakfast awaits inside, and bathrooms.
