Delorme GPS / Street Atlas Bundle on Sale

I just got this link from DeLorme:

Street Atlas USA PLUS - DeLorme
(click the above link to go!)

They have a bundle of their Street Atlas software AND (!) a GPS for $34.95. Use code 10013 during checkout.

I've used DeLorme software since version 1.0... and that was a LONG time ago. Their GPS dongles are pretty good. Combine this with a cheap netbook and you have one heck of an interactive road atlas. Remember that your phone-based GPS maps won't work when you are in the middle of nowhere. This takes care of that. Even though my current DeLorme GPS combo is working fine, I figure upgrading to the current generation won't hurt. And for 35 bucks? No-brainer.

Sounds like a great deal. How is DeLorme for campground information?

Tom -- Pretty good. If you've ever used a paper DeLorme Atlas, you'll get everything they have in there plus new listings.

I have used the DeLorme Atlas for years, have found it to be the VERY BEST Bar none for everything. Especially like the fact that it is topographical. I do not like towing over steep mountains! So I can easily find alternate routes. They are accurate and have all the listings of State and National as well as Army Corps of engineer etc listings and what they can facilitate...cannot say enough good about these maps. And I am a map lover from way back. Can't beleive this software is so cheap! Thank you for the info! If I get it I will still use the Paper Atlas from DeLorme though. Thanks Again

Diane: Note this is for STREET ATLAS and not TOPO USA. Street Atlas doesn't have the topo information. I'm sure, though, that a TOPO sale will float along pretty soon.

Nope. It's a Windows application. You can, however, pick up a Windows 7 tablet for around $125. Add the Delorme to it and you have a GPS unit with a BIG screen for under $175. That's less than most Androids. (Note: I have BOTH a Google tablet AND a Win7 Netbook.)
