My "Gem" of a Scamp 16

Since my Scamp 16 was barely used and in excellento shape... she's a little Gem... and I'm a rockhound, jewelry artist so... she's Gem.

Short and sweet... like her. Haven't named the car though... should I?

I used to have a perris pacer
And heard about someone else that owned one
They had a great name for there's
"Perris Hilton"
I really wanted to borrow that name but my wife refused to let me sleep with perris hilton... Go figure

When I first brought our little 13" Boler home my three daughters kept exclaiming "it's bigger on the inside"! So for obvious reasons we seriously discussed painting our little camper blue and we even referred to it as the TARDIS for a long time.
However, as you can see I painted it red and while it is still bigger on the inside and it takes us to amazing places and we have fantastic adventures in it we still call it "The Boler" more than anything else.

Treasure Chest

My new Scamp is named the Treasure Chest because she is decorated in a Pirates of the Caribbean theme and, well, she is my treasure chest

When I was born, my siblings were read a book with a nursery rhyme "Little Tommy Tinker." From that I received the nickname Tinker, so my Egg became "Tinkers Toy."

We have settled on "The Longhouse" for our Bigfoot Silver Cloud. Our granddaughter called our VT "The Tiny House," so this seems only appropriate, since it is 2 times as long.

I am also into genealogy and proved my Shawnee background. They had a "longhouse." However, that is not all. My Scottish ancestors had a longhouse. So did my French. So did my father's and mother-in-law's Ostfriesien (northern German) ancestors. And so did my husband's Danish ancestors. Theirs was a kind of party house, A.K.A. a mead house. The Scots, Germans and French built the houses long to make it their house and barn. I much prefer the use for the Danes. They put lots of people in it and had a good time. They used it as a party house, A.K.A. the mead house.

So we have "The Longhouse."

At the moment my Campster is temporarily named "take-out box" since that it what it looks like, one of the beige plastic clam shell food take out boxes. Plus of course I had to take almost everything out of it

Or you could use Casablanca since blanca is the word for white.

We've named ours the stargazer, as we like to take it to places where we can see the stars. Also we are star trek fans and its the name of a lesser know starship.

Check the FGRV Registry. There you will see the names of many campers.

You've all inspired me! My trailer is now called "The Gleeful Glamper" as I love decorating my trailer themed according to my whim or our destination.

My old 21' Escape was "BlackJack" another name for 21 and an old faithful companion who has crossed the rainbow bridge. My new Escape 19 will be called "Prairie Schooner" to replicate the settlers crossing the plains in the 1800's....

I don't know if this is a given name exactly but I have certainly called it some names while working on it. Especially when laying on my back underneath, just something about parts, paint, fiberglass resin and gravity that bring forth a verbal response that needs to be personal.

"My Firefly"

My little trillium 1300 is a lovely warm yellow, and I'm a sci-fi geek, so I call it My Firefy. I picture the light being given off at night in the dark wilderness, and think "this is my Serenity!" So of course I call it My Firefly. . .

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me.

Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me.

Leave the men where they lay
They'll never see another day
Lost my soul, lost my dream
You can't take the sky from me.

I feel the black reaching out
I hear its song without a doubt
I still hear and I still see
That you can't take the sky from me.

Lost my love, lost my land
Lost the last place I could stand
There's no place I can be
Since I've found Serenity

And you can't take the sky from me.

A most excellent show and movie. I just bought the box set for the show and the DVD of the movie. Show made top 10 TV Guide shows that ended too soon list. Always seem to find one or two subtle things in the shows when I re-watch.

What is not to love about a show that opens with a guy sitting naked on a rock in the middle of a desolate desert and as the camera approaches his face he says "well that went well".

I might add that while tracking down leaks camper was given names ranging from those appropriate to a 7-10 split all the way to those consistent with dropping the bowling ball on your foot.
