I'm wondering how I can get a subscription to Direct TV to use in my RV that I intend to use in the USA for 6mo of the year? Are there any Canadians who have it and can answer the following:

- How do I get a subscription?
- Where is the billing sent to?
- How do I get the hardware?
- How do I get technical support?
- What happens for the other 6mo I spend in Canada?

Appreciate any and all answers. Thanks.

I live in California and have Dish network.
When my grand kids were little and we went on long trips I had a an extra dish and just took my home receiver with us.
Dish has a website that gives you all the satellite numbers by zip code.
Check with your provider to see if they have the same service.

We are DirecTV customers, but I don't know the answer to most of your questions. Our receivers are connected to a land line at home and billing is automatic through a CC#. Equipment such as the receiver or DVR is leased from the company and must be returned when service is discontinued. The dish, travel tripod and 50' of cable are offered free to new customers as an RV kit. I would suggest you contact the company 1-800-279-3809 with your questions. You should be aware that DirecTV may charge substantial penalty fees if you do not follow their agreement. We had DishNet for 5 years, but I prefer DirecTV. Aiming the dish requires some learning. The heading and elevation can be obtained from the receiver setup menu by inputing either longitude/latitude or zip code. Reset the receiver to home long/lat for use on the road. I use a Winegard digital smart compass SC8000 for aiming the dish. We use a simple one LNB setup on the road.
