Do you store your egg under cover?

I am impressed with some pics I see of eggs lovingly stored in a nice enclosed building, mine makes do with a cheap "instant carport". But at least it is somewhat protected from the harsh Florida Sun and rain. And all the little bits of tree crap that falls on stuff left out. I figure it endured 26 years out in the open, I intend to make the next 26 a little easier on my baby. So, does your FGRV sleep out of the weather and if so under what kind of cover?

Ours is deep in an insulated tandem garage. In the garage it does not seem to ever get below 32 degrees during our Wisconsin winters of late.

If I had no garage I think I would build a carport to keep the sun and rain off. I would worry mostly about solar degradation.

My previous Scamp was stored outside for 15 years and it showed, though still it did not leak much. Windows needed some sealing attention when I bought it at 11 years of age and that kept it nice and dry.

One of the less obvious bennies of storing it under cover is it makes it a whole lot easier and cooler to do maintenance and wash the rig.

Our's is outside all year. We travel about 8 months and park it in our front yard while home. It seems to stand up to weather pretty well. We never shut our trailer off. When it's sitting in our yard we keep it plugged in, all systems functioning. I generally believe that keeping it running is better than turning it off for long periods.

I have a 20' by 10' steel carport next to the house. The trailer says there while at home. A roof over it's head, house protects from one side, fence from the other. Both ends of the carport are open. Keeps the sun and rain off.

I'm with Byron. Same kind of metal carport. But mine is 18'x25'. I'll have both the Scamp and Ten Forward underneath soon. Right now, I need to have it raised 2' to get the 5er under.
