Donna D. is back online

Group, I'm overwhelmed by all the responses about my wellbeing, truly. You are all a very special group in my heart and life.

BUT, I needed a break. I first logged in to FiberglassRV on March 23, 2003... a looong time ago. Over the past, nearly 10 years, I've personally met dozens and dozens of you at egg gatherings throughout Oregon and Washington. GOOD TIMES! The only times... from those first early days... that I haven't been reading and gaining knowledge from this forum was when I was out camping.

When I got back online from the Washington gathering - Taidnapam, in June. Something changed. I found some people where getting snippy with others. These are some of the same people I've camped with! So, rather than strangle and punch my computer and scream... stop it! Be nice! Remember, I read ALL posts (you never know where a nugget of good info is to be found... and that includes the For Sales. Some of those posts have now been edited by the OP or a moderator). So, I took my own best advice and stepped away from the keyboard. I think it was Frederick who said "I go away camping for a few days and all 'ell breaks loose." GAD.

I'll be around, promise. This place is like an addiction... the good kind. However, I'd like to leave today with a bit of good advice from Mister Rogers.

“There are three ways to ultimate success:
The first way is to be kind.
The second way is to be kind.
The third way is to be kind.”

Hope you had a wonderful time, still trying to find a picture of you from the rally.

Welcome back nice person.

I have to agree with this. I've seen more snarky posts in the past 2 months than in several years. I'm not sure why but suspect that media coverage of the impending election cycle contributes to this (folks think it's OK to attack someone else) as well as this years weird weather. Folks seem to be forgetting to exercise their personal filter.

Fred Rogers was right; being nice is incredibly underrated.

Donna I've only been on this board for the past year or so but have noticed the same.
Because I own my own forum I can relate to the feeling when things appear a bit out of control. Across many different forums I've likely posted close to 50,000 times.

A friendly pm to another member could make life on the board much more pleasant at times.

Park the ego at the door.

Welcome back, Donna. I associate this board with you, and when you are not here, something essential is missing!

I've noticed the snarkiness, too. Hope it reverts to being a wonderful day in the neighborhood again.

Where's your hat? ;>)

glad your back!

btw.....I was off of the site for almost a year, came back and the first thing I noticed was when someone gave their opinion, another would fire back snips.
I just saw one three days ago.
For the most part, we have a wonderful neighborhood here. My hopes are that I will live up to having just half the wonderful personality that you have Donna D. I've only known a half dozen people with your type of personality. Your a God send.

Ironic thing about the sniping back and forth is that many times it is between people that will put a lot of effort into helping a total stranger solve a problem or take the time to post useful and helpful information.

In short people who are nice members of the community as a general rule. But some button gets pushed and...

To paraphrase my father about my temper when I was young lad. It's yours so you get to decide if it gets pushed or not. You decide if it's you or the other guy that is going to control your actions.
