Looks like you had lots of fun, except for the rain. What is in the bottle with your web site's name?

Wonderful pictures. I guess you wouldn't be able to have that green grass and those green leaves without the rain. We are still looking at a frozen lake out front.

Hi Rob,

I thought it was limoncello. I have to try it some time. We went to a party hosted by an Italian-American a few years ago. The host served this drink. Only the men were permitted to drink it there, so I have not tasted it yet.

We have a new trailer to fix up. It is a bit larger with a place to use teh bathroom and take a shower.

Roberto, it looks like great fun! We were in Siena a few years ago. It's a beautiful city, particularly after it quiets down. I love the rolling hills of the countryside.

We just returned from Croatia and learned that 20% of the accomodations are in the campgrounds. We were in Zagreb for a few days, picked up our car and drove east and and then south through the middle of Bosnia. I didn't see the choice of campgrounds there, but, along the Dalmation Coast and Montenegro we were astounded at the offerings! I told my husband numerous times that I am going to get a camper (Lex?) in Europe! LEx and I have visited about this for a few years. What a fantastic way to really see the countryside. And, these campgrounds we saw had some of the most beautiful views.

Cindy, you can buy Limoncello in the US! I brought some back from our stay on the AmalfiCoast and several years later found the same brand in a liquor store. There is even a recipe for Limoncello, but, it may be different as those lovely Amalfi lemons are special!

Roberto, we may be back in ITaly this winter, is we are, I'd love to meet up! I am sooo jealous of you! The combination of camping and all that old world splendor is just right for this artist!

I think I saw the fees for camping in Croatia to be about $20 euros per space. There were nice bathrooms, too! What do you typically see in Italy, if I may ask, please?

Did anyone other than me notice that the European campers are mostly young with kids and we are mostly RANK (Retired and no kids)!

Tu hai ragione, in Italia il campeggio è più una scelta economica per le famiglie. Io credo che in USA questa è più una scelta di libertà!
...però io l'ho scelto perché mi piace stare nella natura!

Dear Smith
You have reason, in Italy the camping is more an economical choice for the families. I believe that in USA this is more a choice of freedom! But I have chose it because me pleases to be in the nature!

Hi Gigi,
you are very kind!

I do not go ever in summer to Italian campgrounds near the sea because they are too crowded and expensive. To the large towns of art of the tuscany and of the umbria I am very attracted... however not all have the same standard, as it is easy to arrive at a campground that is not very good. The cost is variable 15, 20 or 30 euro. I know many beautiful campgrounds!

If you are coming to Italy I can tell you where are good campgrounds!

ciao gigi

It's a party! It looks like you had so much fun together. That's what camping is all about, having a good time together.

Looking at your pictures I can't help but admire the curved awnings you have for your fiberglass trailers. I haven't been able to find anything like that here. I don't like the spring tension type awnings so popular here. They're heavy on the trailer and I'm always getting "tangled" up when I try and set them up by myself. (Well, it's not good to have an accessory that is more sophisticated than you are! )

Thanks for sharing your photos with us. I'm planning a family reunion/campout for this summer and I'll try and share some pictures also.

Thanks to LindyW2 for making this photo from Pineknot Rally 2006 available.

P.S. Thank you for translating your responses to English. I speak a little of two other languages (Spanish and Japanese), but never had an opportunilty to learn European.
