Eggs and Vintage Stickies

Just got back from the TCT (Tin Can Tourist) rally in Milford, Michigan. It's always a really, really fun weekend. The FG Eggs were well represented, and very popular during the open house. There were 2 bolers, 2 Trilliums, and 3 Uhauls ..... and 150 vintage 'stickie' rigs of every model, year, and size.

There's a fall rally also, if any more FG'rs decide to attend.

Pam, I just love looking at the vintage trailers. In fact this whole thing of owning a trailer got started when I saw and fell in love with my cousin's 1964 Shasta Compact. It is cute as can be, and I believe they bought it for $1500. Fixed it up for maybe another $500. But DH is not into handy man stuff, so he was not interested in anything with much age on it. Glad you had fun at the rally. From the pictures I have seen of other rallies, vintage owners really get into it with glamping and a vast array of vintage accessories. Quite a hobby!

While deciding what I would do personally I looked at every vintage type out there.
On the net that is. I love vintage trailers. If I were much younger I would try my
hand at finding and fixing one up. But I'm like Susie's DH. Not very good at fixing
things up any more. Health issues causes me to farm out what I used to do myself.

And I've always had a fond spot for Michigan from when I drove semi-trailers.

I may have to think about a rally or just visiting at some point if I'm still around.

Researching the stickie vintage campers is what sold me on getting an egg. I love the look of vintage, but not the work/rehab involved with bringing them back to life. Eggs are simpler to keep in top shape, and have much less potential areas of leaking and rotting. I love my egg!

I had the same experience in my adventure.
I searched all brands and compared pros and cons for my use.
After looking at all the stickies and vintages, I settled on a large
tear drop. Then I found this forum and bingo, knew the egg was
the answer for us.
