Escape campers

Are these made by two different companies? I sure like the looks of both of them.

Yes, the one on right made in Canada and is molded fiberglass, and the one several members, myself included own, the one on left is not molded fiberglass but a conventional manufacturer using the name and it will last about 5 years before leaks destroy it.

Two different companies. Different methods of construction. You don't want the one on the left.

The one on the left, which we - in this forum - don't like because it is not made of moulded fiberglass, is a model within the Spree series from KZ RV.

The one on the right - a great example of a lightweight moulded fiberglass travel trailer - comes from our friends at Escape Trailer Industries.

One might notice a bit of understandable bias in these replies...

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Mould is to shape, mold is a green fungus.....just sayin'.

But our message is still the same Mary Ann, the one on the (other) left (in other words right) is of much better build quality, as are all of the moulded fiberglass trailers, witnessed by the fact that many 30-40 year old ones are still in use and cost more now than when they were first produced.

If you decided to go with a stick-built, I would not chose K-Z as they are among the less durable of the stick-built. I know they have a great price and they do have their place in the market but you need to understand what you are getting for the price. Figure out how much you will be using the trailer and how long you are planning to keep it before selling or trading. Five years is right on the nose for the years of service you can expect from the trailer.

Thanks for the info everyone. I know I want a 16+ foot camper, I'm just doing research at this time to see what's out there. I've been searching for a used Scamp 16 but I haven't found any yet. I'm not into putting 20,000 plus the costs of upgrades into a one. I just got all the info from Scamp. I won't sell my 13' until I buy a larger one.
