Escape23 News

This is by way of a follow-up to my "Our Casita Isn't Big Enough" thread,
https://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/...ugh-95725.html

where I intimated we'd like the new Escape 23-foot with the twin-bed option (and a dinnette that we didn't have to take down). As I assume the aficianados here know, the E23, as it's known, is not yet in production. Unfortunately, no other Escape models offer a twin-bed option.

Anyway, I wrote to Escape and asked for an update on their production schedule, and received this nice note back from Samuel Schneebeli in Customer Service:

Quote:
Thank you for reaching out. Great question! We are planning to build the E23 prototype this year and go into production 2022 forward. We anticipate that once we have built the prototype and are ready to take deposits, we will reach out to everyone who placed their name on the E23 waitlist and offer them a random slot. At that point customers can accept by placing a deposit. That is the plan, details will emerge as we get closer.

Currently, we do not anticipate customer deliveries for the E23 in 2021. However, we hope to build a limited number of E23 in 2022 and have them delivered in 2022. The majority of customers will likely be in 2023 and beyond.
There are not many companies in the molded-fiberglass world that offer twin beds (with a small dinette); see the thread I linked for some discussion (Casita Liberty, Snoozy 2, stickies). The best ones available are of course the Oliver and the Big Foot, both wildly expensive (I think a Big Foot 25 would be kinda heavy for our Expedition to pull). Not that the E23, when it's finally available, would be cheap, but probably more affordable than those two).

Oh well. Just thought I'd pass on this note. Essentially the same information is available on the Escape website by listening to their monthly video reports.

Thanks for the info/update.

IF you have a truck and are willing to pull a 5th wheel, Escape has an option for the upper loft as twin beds. It necessitates removing the front cubies. They've done that for people who desire a king size bed too.

Very interesting, Donna!

Earlier I had asked Escape CS about putting twins in an E21:

Quote:
Question: Is there any chance you could configure an Escape 21 with TWIN-BEDS? I have put my name in your Wait List for the Escape 23, but I assume it could be a very long wait.
The response was,

At this time the E’23 will be the only trailer that offers twin beds.
But maybe they modified your E5.0 as a special request. They certainly don't list twin beds as an option on the website.

I don't have a pickup. If I were confident we'd be devoting a lot of time to trailering, I'd be tempted to get one along with an Escape 5.0, which looks like one could modify for twins on one's own. But we already own a Ford Expedition, which is capable of handling up to 7k or more lbs of bumper-pull, and also doubles (or triples) as family bus and (with seats down) goods hauler.

Not my trailer. I have one twin in the loft. I have lots of crawl around room It probably was a special request, just like the king-bed 'option.' But it's been done at the factory, not an owner mod. IF someone really wants it, doesn't hurt to ask. As is said, they've already said NO unless you ask.

IMHO, for someone seeking decent sized twins, the Escape 5.0TA with the twin option is the best. Twins are almost residential size.
