FGRV rentals

Is there anywhere or anyone who rents FGRV so we can try it out before buying one? We want to go to CA for two weeks in April 2008. Have been told we should try one first.

Kiddee Kamper Rentals in Tennesse rent Scamps: Kiddee

and Escape Trailers in British Columbia: Escape are the only two I know of.

I just saw an ad for some place in Monterey, CA, that rents scamps. Google Scamp and rental. But you'd have to come out first then rent it.

If you're planning on buying a new Scamp or Casita you're probably inside the lead time window. If ordered today you couldn't get it by April.

If you plan on buying used, buy as soon as you can, use it. If you don't like it, resale value should be close to your purchase cost.

Again if it's Scamp or Casita call Scamp and Casita. Tell them you'd like to look at x model. They'll give you the name, phone number, and address in your area of an owner. Don't be afraid to call and ask the owner to see his/her trailer, they signed up to allow potential buyer to see their trailer. Also most of us like to show and brag about our trailers.

There is a place in SF that rents those new teardrops, the ones you can stand up in, but that isn't quite the same thing. (Sorry I forgot their name.)

You are in the same state as Casita. (Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that you are all that close to Rice.) Perhaps a facotry tour might be beneficial to you. At least you will have a chance to sit in and walk around a unit.

We are 1 hour away from Rice. It helped a lot to go see them. Have decided exactly what I want. Now, somebody sell me a Casita Freedom with the captain's chairs (blue) at a fair price! lol

Some military bases, both in the US and overseas, rent Casitas and Scamps. Active duty and retired military, and current civil servants can rent them. We used to rent them before buying our trailer. We now camp at US military bases whenever possible, they are safe and clean.
