Fiamma Awnings Back Open

Someone mentioned that they thought Fiamma was open again after the terrible incident they had a few months ago. I email them to see if were were open and this is the response I received from Patty Lynch this afternoon.

Thank you for your kind words, yes we are back open and as long as you have your part number we can see if we have in stock and ship out to you. Go to Fiamma Inc. - Home and once there if you need help, call and I can walk you to the parts diagrams. Look forward to speaking with you.

I needed some Fiamma parts (new end caps) last year, I ordered them through a distributor (Welcome to EuroCampers.com - Parts & Accessories for Vans & Campers Specializing in Sprinter & VW Vans), and they were drop shipped directly from FiammaUSA, so they've been open for quite some time...

what I heard happened was, a disgruntled ex-employee shot the place up, killing half the staff, including the owner and the webmaster, so that made a huge mess for them to dig out of.

Wish I had known they have been open for some time. I could have used the new parts instead of using velcro to hold it together. lol.
Just received another email saying she had the parts and to give her a call. The leg knuckles must be easy to break, but the keep making them out of plastic...

FYI the Dometic Horizon Awning on our 1999 17' Casita is really a fiamma.

When extended look up into the metal part on the trailer, ours has both Dometic and Fiamma labels. There are several model Fiamma awnings and they all start with 45 but then there's letters, numbers and even plus.
So get the exact Fiamma model before looking up parts.

Hmmm...never saw ANYTHING related to the Fiamma on my Dometic...havent had to get parts for it...so that may be why. I like the "crank out" Fiamma that I've seen on the later model Scamps. Mine is 2010.

I thought I liked the Fiamma awning on my 2008 Casita til I got this Escape with a "Carefree of Colorado" awning... the Carefree is way sturdier and less fragile. there's no gap between the awning and the trailer body for sun or rain to come through. no crank required, you pull on a ribbon to extend the Carefree, then extend the legs which stay attached to the side of the trailer and lock the sliding crossarms in the upright position. I needed a part, contacted Carefree, and got it in days with a smile. I had a oddball question, lady from Carefree traded emails with me all weekend til we figured out the discrepancy (in 2014, Escape was using 6.5' extension awnings, other years they used 8' extensions... previous owner had replaced the fabric with an 8' so I can't fully extend it and lock the legs, not a big deal, was just wondering why).

Yes, the Carefree Fiesta is a nice awning. We like ours. But, the Fiamma works well for many smaller trailers because it's very lightweight.
