Fiberglass 5th wheels
I'm on the hunt again for another fiberglass camper. I'm thinking I might look for a 5er but if another Oxygen or similarly unusual trailer comes along I could go that direction also. My question here is which companies make a fiberglass 5th wheel? I owned a Scamp 19 and almost owned a Bigfoot. I love the Escape and I recently saw the ad for the 1985 Custom Lite. Are there any others out there that I could be looking for?

For a current manufacturer of a fibreglass fifth wheel, I only know of Escape. Scamp does make something similar too.
My Escape 5.0TA gives us everything we possibly need for trailer camping, and does so with a great quality product.
I have seen in a Scamp 19', and though a nice trailer, it really is not the same as the Escape at all. Bigfoot has not made a fifth wheel in many years now, but some of the older ones were well built units.
Actually, I am quite surprised there are not more offerings of moulded fibreglass fifth wheels. I know it is a huge seller for Escape.

I know there's several Steve. I have pictures, but have never seen any of them in real life. Unicorns perhaps? I'm sure there's more too!
Stiletto
Perris Pacer

You're right about the Scamp 5er. The build quality is nowhere near what the Escape 5er is. However the affordability is quit different also. I've always wanted to take a Scamp 5er paint it bright yellow, put a periscope on top and call it yellow submarine lol.

I'd give serious thought to that 1985 Custom Lite that is posted for sale right now.
As for new options, Escape is the winner.
And to why more don't make them, its the old supply/demand situation. Many molded FG trailers are looking for a light trailer to pull behind their car/SUV. So I think the market is pretty limited. Now I love 5th wheels, my next trailer (if I ever get one) will be the Escape 5.0.

I've occasionally thought it might be fun to try a 5th wheel but I'm always deterred by the need for a larger, heavier TV.
I agree that Stiletto is a beauty.

The Stiletto is a beauty but I just noticed in the small print that it is 38 feet long. YIKES!

Well, you didn't say you were looking for a little one!
How about building one? Two crashed Scamps or bolers and you can build a faux 5er. Notice it's still a bumper pull, but sleeps 5!

There is this one I saw in Sitka, AK in 2005. I forget the make, but it was discussed here a bit. It does look like that Continental Donna posted. Only made for a short while. The biggest moulded fibreglass trailer I have personally seen.

The problem with the Custom Lite is that it is 1500 miles from where I am in Boulder City NV and will be considerably farther when I move up to Eastern Washington in a couple weeks. If it was Phoenix or Salt Lake I'd be on it in a second, at least to check it out.

The Quantum is a nice looking 5er. Pretty rare though, I've never seen one in person.
I know there are other brands that haven't been brought up yet.

Okay, another one. This was purchased in Oregon about 7 years ago. Unfortunately the owner hasn't been back and I haven't seen the trailer.
The Cabana.

That's kind of cool. It has some possibilities.

I don't know what the other side looks like but it's kind of challenged on windows.
