Thumbs up Finally snagged a scamp

I can't tell you how many times upon finding a Scamp for sale that it was gone before i could even communicate with the seller. I check every morning and last week a 2016 13'beauty went up for sale 400 miles away. Much to my suprise, it was still available when I called so, we jumped in the car and off we went. It is now sitting in my driveway ready to hit the road!

Good for you! Now you can proudly update your trailer info in the sidebar.

I finally bagged my Escape just last month. It's a good feeling!

Well done! I remember the feeling when we scored our 2008 13’er back in 2012. Ours was only 35 miles away, and it was not advertised online, just parked on a side street with a sale sign. Congratulations, and happy Scamping!

Congratulations

I think most of us have been down that road. It took us over 2 years to finally get our Bigfoot. I missed one close to us even though I called 45 minutes after the add was placed. Now updating with solar panels, lithium batteries, etc. Have fun

Thanks to all for the replies regarding our good fortune. We are planning to take our maiden voyage the week of May 15 and are headed to beautiful NW Arkansas. I'm fishing and she's reading!

Is snagging legal? I thought you were supposed to use bait! (As in $$$$ when fishing for a trailer)

Both types of snagging bait tend to be pricey but, it's worth it! Mike, we are in Sand Springs OK and you?

I'm in BA. We're practically neighbors!

Sorry for the slow reply. I spent 3 nights at War Eagle COE CG this week, so tonight I'm catching up on stuff.

Hi: scripalbertjr... From experience I know getting "Snagged" on a trailer only hurts for a while. Starting out with a 13'er. and progressing to a 19.5'er then a 21'.2" fifth wheel only hurt a bit more each time.
Enjoy making memories and have fun along the way!!!

I gave up after a few years and ordered our Escape 17B new in 2020. The good news is we got exactly what we wanted, even if we paid more than I originally wanted to. Most older units (from what I have seen) don't tend to have AC, and we have really found that useful on the dry side of Oregon and Washington!, so - no regrets!

I was in Raleigh Durham and the 16' scamp I purchased was in Maine. I was a bit uneasy about that. But I ended up getting a good price and they threw in an old truck that was set up to haul it. Which I still own 10 years later and is now towing my 19'.

Ahhh yes, that reminds me when I found my current Scamp near Detroit, Michigan. I ended up driving roundtrip from Florida to get it.

It was well worth it and goes to show how hard it can be to snag one of em.

Enjoy,
Ray
