Find Driving Conditions?

Hi! I'm trying to find out more details about the weather for this upcoming week between FL and WY. My Mom said she heard S. Dakota is expecting 2-4" of rain this week and more flood gates may have to be opened for the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers causing more flooding. On Weather.com they have an option to enter each interstate then it gives you a forcast but it's not very detailed (ex. 30% chanceof rain) and a pain to enter every destination along the way. Is there a website where you can enter your starting point and your destination and receive a full report for the entire route? I've Googled Travel Forcast and dont seem to be finding a comprehensive report. I really dont want to have to call every State's weather hotline to get the road/flooding conditions every day.

The Weather channel on TV is your best bet. See what the satellite shows and make your best guess.

There are also Trucker Radio stations however I don't know the frequencies. Find the station and listen in.

I use our smart phone and create a list of weather locations for a number of towns/cities we plan to drive thru. I then can get the forecast, weather conditions and/or alerts for that location in about 5 seconds and get an immediate up to date.

It works very well, fast and always up to date.

My wife has a function on her phone that works on any phone; she does not have a smart phone. It gives you info much like a computer without having anything but a normal cell phone and works anywhere you have phone service.

She dials Bing at 800 246 4411, says "weather", gives the city and state, like Charleston, SC or you can simply give a zip code. They give the weather and a forecast. It is not limited to simply weather.

She read about this in the Escapee magazine, one of the best RV magazines.

Here's another one. Weather Underground allows you to plan your trip using Google Maps and then, based on your departure time, you get the predicted weather along the route.

I made the Bing response a general forum topic. People have used it for weather, retuarants, cheapest gas and sport's scores so far.

One neat thing is so often you're out camping you'll see or hear a weather alert, generally given by county. You hardly ever know the county but you usually know the town or city. Call Bing, give them the city and you know the latest.
