Firbreglass 5th Wheelers in the US

I know Scamp has a 5th Wheeler, but does any other manufacturer make one?

Ok , thought there were not many. Local company building Fibreglass 5th wheelers uses mainly word of mouth to get sales. 5th Wheelers are like Truck Campers, a small part of the Australian RV scene. A lot of campers like to take their RV's off road in Australia, 5th Wheelers are restricted in that sense. They also construct a slideout composite 5th Wheeler, max size 30ft. It is made under a another name, As well they produce a full wall TC

Yeah, but the entry door is on the wrong side. I have zero interest in stepping outside my trailer and then stepping right on the sewer hose or the water hose or the electrics.

In Australia w drive RHD, but the entry door is on the right side. US 5th wheelers have to be converted to have the door on the other side. In other words a regular US 5ver has the door on the wrong side for Australia.

Once you go fiberglass "composite wall" that pretty much the entire RV industry. My old Alpenlite had composite fiberglass walls, but I would not compare it to a molded fiberglass fifth wheel.

I have seen several other brands of molded fiberglass fifth wheels, all brands that no longer exist. But their products live on and on.

The craziest one is the LaMarr Stiletto, made around 2000. Weighing in at 12,000 pounds, I think only one was made. I saw an ad for it used in Arizona last year, would have been worth the trip just to see it in person. Price was cheap for what it cost originally.

Yes but there is a very good Fibreglass 5th wheeler in Australia. I realise they are rare in the US, but I think Australia is the only other place outside it appears the US and Canada to make rhem. Just like the UK and Australia/ New Zealand were the first to make Fibreglass Egg Campers in the 1950- 1960's before they became common in the US. I did not know Canada made a fibreglass 5th wheeler. There are none in Europe

Pretty impressive to look at. Very heavy though. Yes you would need a heavy truck to pull it. Composite has a different connation to the many Caravan builders in Australia, being metal composites and fibreglass or similar but no wood.. I guess that would have been the biggest fibreglass 5th wheeler, problem is slides do not work in a total Fibreglass construction

One thing they do here for virtually all RV's is add a Annex or Add a Room. Takes 5 to 10 mins to put up, keeps out strong sun, mosquitoes, flies and extends living area
