i am looking at a used casita and when the rear bed is made into a dining table, just at the foot of the table the floor feels recessed along the width of the trailer under the carpet.
i am sure when the bed is used it will just about cover it where you cant step on it .
Kelly, does it feel squishy when you walk on it? If so, it sounds like water damage. Can be fixed but you need to know how bad it is, to see if you want to take on that project. Hopefully someone who has had that issue can pipe in and help you figure out if it's worth it. Best of Luck! Robin
the owner claims it was like that when he bought it. he is the second owner. should this be a deal breaker or negotiate a lower price based on an educated guess what the repair might be? i am sure its a gamble what might be issue to repair. for extra info this recessed area is about a little bit smaller than the width of my foot. but runs the entire length of the floor where accesible. you cant see it you can only tell if your standing directly on it.
Is this lower area visible from below? In other words, is it lower than the rest of the sealed, fiberglassed, continuous area of the front? I asked earlier if it was a 16 ft because I thought you were talking about the floor height change that is under the table area.
Is the front floor area flush with the entrance door?
i dont know if undrneath is level or not. i thought about that after i got home. yes the floor is level at the door. as mentioned earlier the recess appears to be strait and square giving me the idea whatever it is was intentional. carpet doesnt look like it was torn up . if the bed had been laid out i never would have noticed it.
i ended up calling casita and talked to victor i believe was his name in the service dpt. he said he had never heard of the floor having issues of cracking and or breaking of any sort. i asked him based on my info
should this be a reason not to buy the trailer and he said if it were him he wouldnt be concerned about it.
so i am going on his advice.
