After watching Chicken Little with 2 little boys last night I put them to bed and was reading a book outside the trailer. I hate that little bird as I had to watch it with them 4 time while up there.
It was about 11pm and I thought I heard footsteps I looked around and just at the edge of the light of the coleman lantern, about 15 feet, there was a little bear staring at me. I just sat there and we looked at each other for a minute or 2. When I got up to go in the trailer the bear spun around and ran off. I was not going to shoot it Gina, I wanted the boys to see it. It was exciting as I have seen bears in the wild before but never that close.
It was a great trip for the boys and my self.
I have to admit I missed my furnace, hot water heater, refrigerator, its already ordered, and the storage space in the old trailer but those are things that can be remedied.
The first trip in the 13' Burro was great.
I will post some pics in a day or 2 when I recuperate.
John

Re: bears & eggs. One of my favorite USFS campgrounds is Eagle Creek CG, just outside the east entrance of Yellowstone on the banks of a beautiful rushing trout stream. Softside camping (tents & pop-ups) is not allowed due to the presence of grizzlies in the area. A perfect site, though, for FGRVs!
