Is the 5-1/2' truck bed enough room for the Scamp 5th wheel hitch in the back?






Does anyone have an opinion / experience with the 2.7L vs 3.3L vs V8 towing fuel economy?

I would guess it is, but best to have someone who has one answer this question. I know that an Escape 5th wheel would work with our 5.5 bed in our 2013 F150.

The best tow option the F150 offers is the 3.5L V-6 "Ecoboost." it's turbocharged, and even our big 4 door gets 17-22. I've yet to see the 22, but have seen 20 and better. Have not towed much with it as of yet. It has a tow capacity of 9200#s with a 3.31 rear gear.

Towing my 5.0TA with 2016 F150, 2.7 EB and couldn’t be happier. I have the 6.5 box but know that people are using 5.5’ box with no problems. Have gotten 16.5 mpg while towing in Florida, 22 mpg not towing. The worse being 13.5 mpg through The Catskills. Never had a lack of power, passed a lot of other rv’s on long grades through Penn. and Vt.
