Fuel prices
Central Alabama today: 87 octane gas = $1.68/g; diesel = $1.99/g. I never thought I'd see diesel under $2 again!

Having driven about ten miles since I filled up more than a week ago, I care nothing about fuel prices.

I hope you understand why the price is so low, and why it is a bad thing that they are.

Just reporting fact and expressing personal surprise. I don't even pretend to understand anything that is going on in this crazy world today.

Hi: All... Prices here for gas are $0.69 a liter. It's only partly to do with the Co-vivid virus. Thing is there's no place to tow!!!

Yup. Econ 101 at work. I’m at least grateful those working front line jobs in this crisis- health care and grocery workers- are catching a little break.
If restrictions are lifted in time for the summer travel season, pent-up demand will send prices soaring higher than before.

In the SF Bay area, we are down to around $2.99 a gallon for regular. Diesel is still around 3.60ish. Strange. Not that I'm going anywhere.

There is something going on between the Saudis and Russians that is more likely than COVID-19 to be the cause of lower prices. Two deplorable countries yet we love them....

Fighting for market share and both economies are based on one single product. Now is the time we should be hitting the road and enjoying the low prices of gas instead of sitting at home. Too bad China messed up.
At least we managed one week to Monte Vista, Palo Duro and Black Mesa second week this month.

Here in Wisconsin the first 51.3 cents is TAX.
I recall getting yelled at when we did full service for 36.9 cents for full service. (About 1971)

The Russians are trying to bankrupt our fracking business.

Still $2.35 locally. Hasn’t changed. Not that it matters much.

I keep forgetting to check. It is about time for me to fill up. I'm guessing our prices are similar to what Jon is seeing.
If prices did drop into the below $2 range, that would be a great time for the ranchers around here with large, elevated fuel storage tanks to fill up while it's cheap! Assuming they aren't already full.
When I worked in a remote area a few summers ago we had one of those tanks, and it was really nice. And sort of necessary, since the nearest gas was just over an hour away, including 30 miles of dirt road. But it was nice to just pull up to the shop in the back yard and fill up the tank.
