Got a new (to me) fiberglass trailer....

Well, sort of. I'm told the tub of this 1982 TravLite motorcycle camper is made of fiberglass.

Got it for a price I just couldn't turn down. The photo on the right is what I brought home, the photo on the left is a generic photo.

I need to take a class in origami before I try setting it up myself!

But the canvas is very nice, all the lights work and it came with three new tires.

That looks very similar to the trailer I just traded for my Venture Industries (sure looks like a Ventura) project trailer recently. But mine did not look like the stock photo you used at all when folded out....it had about twice as much room in it, in that it had a queen bed, and a "parlor" area that easily held two camping chairs and small table, with easy access to the trailer tub (yes, FG), under the foot of the bed. I could not tell you what the brand was because the paperwork got "filed"...and the company went out of business.
However. Every time I set it up, but mostly, when I folded it away---it was indeed origami!!! If it was more than a few weeks between uses, I just could not remember how to fold it back up...it was so confusing. One of the very cool things about it was mere mortals can just move the trailer by hand, anywhere, to position it for storage or camp ground choice. I do miss it, but to have a FG trailer with a door I will be able secure was what I wanted. That one looks to be in great shape! Good Luck!

yes, i still have my Compact Jr.......

I like minimalism when camping but still want a solid floor under my feet.

So I will give this little camper a trial run in the spring.

When it is set up it has a dinette feature.... a small table and cushioned seat and seat back on both sides.

Then of course the table drops down and the cushions are shifted to make a bed that runs east and west.

And there is just enough room in front of the door to stand up for changing clothes, stretching, etc.

And it is indeed lightweight, about 400 pounds and I can move it around by hand and push it up on ramps into my storage shed.

It just seems like the Jr is a little overkill for one person for weekend trips and this tiny camper may end up being too small. Time will tell.

The nice fellow that sold this to me had spent a couple years using this with his fiancé and two dogs. He decided to look for a used R-Pod or Tab.

I told him the benefits of a 2nd hand fiberglass camper and he will hopefully find a nice one for himself.

I just got one too! Soft tops are so hard to find on the internet! Mines a black tub, white binge cover with a tan and white tent canvas. Anyone got videos on theirs? I'm looking to restore/customize mine and would like to see if anyone has any pointers.

Thank you everyone for responding. Yes, yours looks identical to mine, except my tub is white. My canvas is identical to yours as well. I wondered which was more desirable, hard top or soft top. The person I got this from said that the canvass was newer and identical to the original.

I’m very excited to clean her up and go camping!

Any suggestions on how to clean up and polish fiberglass…

Wow! Your camper tub is in much nicer condition than mine! We’re you able to find any resources on how best to fold it up.

Hi everyone. I am late to the party but thought to share this with the group. I recently came across a barn find 1985 Travlite 2SM (larger model) in great condition. I had to figure out how to set it up on my own, no instructions. I created this video to help others like me that had no idea. Feel free to share
