Red face

Long time listener, first time caller...

...am still pondering the RV that will be 'just right' for me and my family here
in the 49th state but I am pretty much convinced that it will be a FGRV trailer
around the 16' - 17' variety...

Glad I found you guys here some time ago - I finally decided to quit lurking
and just sign up!
I have learned much already and hope to contribute some as well.

I plan to use my 2005 Honda Odyssey as my TV, Honda tow package w/ tranny and PS coolers, self installed.

and generally a great place to LIVE

typically, glorious summers are our reward for surviving the winters except this summer. it was mostly a bummer - and then winter started early. several inches of heavy wet snow today here in Anchorage.

now, Talkeetna is just a couple hours drive north up the highway...

...BUT Port Heiden is not someplace you just end up at have you ever been there? where would your Aunt go with a trailer? However! if she does join up here at FGRV.com and ends up buying herself a trailer before I do, and say she then needs a place to "store" it while she's out there in the village, I would sacrifice and keep it safely here in town for her...

As a bit more of an intro - I have seen in person locally so far examples of Scamp, Northern Lite, Bigfoot, and Escape brand trailers, and have done most of my research gathering (internet and mail) on Scamp, EggCamper, Escape and Oliver. Early on in my seeking I was interested in TAB and TADA trailers, but have since ruled them out for my needs. I have been heavily swayed to 'Escape' to the world of Fiberglass! We'll see how my 'Escape' plan works out...

Connie,

thanks for the welcome! we have some friends in Soldotna and family in Ninilchik so we do hope to take our as-yet-to-be-obtained trailer down that way this coming summer... and North, and wherever else we can if we can make the time. hopefully we will have more summer next summer.

very interesting website you and your family have!
