Has anyone just ...........

Has anyone just showed up at a TTT Rally and did you have trouble/luck at getting a spot?

I've been trying to plot who's doing what, where and when. And some are already booked up with a long waiting list. Makes me think it may not be a good idea to just "show up" at these events. But maybe it's okay to just drive through for a bit and check things out?

Experiences? Thoughts?

We are on a waiting list for a Tin Can Tourist rally. It's at a state park campground that is open to the public. If there are sites available there's nothing preventing us from taking one, but we can't participate in the rally meals or events since they are booked and at their preset limit. We can still wander around the campground and look at trailers. The event host actually told us this.

That's a great point about participating in the meals and events.
Good to know one could wander the cg and look and visit.

We do a vintage camper rally in Vermont, the campground owner invites the public in on Saturday to view the trailers. We also do a teardrop rally in the Adirondaks of NY, not restricted to teardrops, at a state park. Some campers per-register, some just show up, and others not in the group, just camping there, stop by to visit and look. We learned that by owning a teardrop you need to have the attitude that people want to look, and to make them welcome. One time we had to chuck burnt burgers out into the woods and start over because of visitors, LOL, no problem.
