Further update, we now have trailer back in possession and some insight on if someone is looking to buy . The thief had made a fake ownership trying to copy the HC logo and font was way off, he had also installed a fake
vin to match the numbers on the ownership ,he had fake plates on the trailer also . He had no keys so he changed the front door and hatch with new locks that did not even resemble the locks HC uses ,he also must of tried to remove or did remove the hinges to gain access as they will need repair . He must have had some knowledge of the value of these trailers and knew some were desperate to get one as he listed this for $30.000 which is close to HC s retail. Don’t know if he was the actual thief or bought from the thief but either way he looses .
The customer who helped us get it back and I can’t name him for obvious reasons had taken a big risk and we are very grateful as it could of been a dangerous situation as apparently it was not in the best of neighborhoods and even had pit bull dogs in the yard , not that their bad but you get the picture.
Some of you may remember this is not the first time
Happier Camper had their trailers stolen ,back 6-7 years ago when HC was a vintage fg trailer rental business we had 2 trailers stolen in one night ,a
Scamp and a U haul and never saw them again so this is a nice outcome . A good reminder to keep your trailers safe
