I like Calgary and had a good time at the Stampede but we also were there the year they had a terrible accident in the Chuck Wagon Races and closed them down early. I never want to witness anything like that again.

The officials are expecting 2 000 000 people to show up! That's double the population of calgary!

It is the 100th anniversary of the Calgary Stampede. There are lots of great events planned in addition to the rodeo.

Normally i would say Edmonton would be a better choice than Calgary but the stampede is a great time. If you have time a quick side trip to Banff would be a great addition to your trip... it is quite close

Stampede week is a good time to head to the mountains. Because all the crazy crowds are in the city!

I dunno, as much as I love solitude and heading into the backcountry in a canoe, partying during Stampede week is sure a lot of fun. Lots of folks with a good, fun attitude all playing together.
