Thank you for the welcome back!
We met a number of Forum members for the first time in Bandon, where we traveled before we bought anything. It was just as much the warm, friendly, down-to-earth community of travelers we encountered there as it was the wonders of
fiberglass travel trailers which got us hooked. After that weekend of walking around as "Wannabees," seeing the range of comfy and creative homes on wheels, we spent hours doing research and finally, were willing to go to Canada to get this rare 19'
Bigfoot. We learned that the reason the 19' are so rare is that there was a fire at the Bigfoot Manufacturing plant and the moulds for the 19' and 5th Wheels were destroyed.
Soon after getting ours, we enjoyed attending a San Bernadino Mountain get-together that Gina D. coordinated a few years ago and had a great time meeting the wonderful group who'd assembled there for the weekend. Gina and several others were so welcoming of us newbies and provided us with great tips and helpful hints (quick and easy rig set up, A to Z of dumping, the physics of getting decent gas mileage, etc.). In short, we found the
fiberglass community to be top-notch!
We will keep our eyes open for any local AZ gatherings while the weather is still cool here (which may not be for long at the low elevations) and hope to see some of you this year.
Blessings & Hugs,
Val & Kayla
