I am headed to Breezypoint near Brainerd the 20th and 21st for the Mn Pet Breeders Seminar and wanted to camp near there. I haven't found a place to camp. Does anyone from Minnesota ever camp near there in late October? Are there any campgrounds still open in that area with electricity to keep me warm??? (YES, I know we have snow on the ground and it is below freezing up there).
Anyone have any suggestions (besides a nice cozy motel room) which is sounding better all the time

I'd find the Woodall's site, look some up and call them, if any.

Karalyn, call the County Conservation Board (or parks office or whomever is in charge of the county parks are called locally) where you're going. My guess is that the county park campgrounds in the area, while technically 'closed for the winter', won't be gated, and the power will be left on. There are folks here who use our county parks year-round, even though the water is shut off. State parks, OTOH, almost always have their campgrounds gated off when they're closed.
