Home sewer Dump

I have a septic tank at home... has anyone added a sewer dump to the home septic tank? How much did it cost?

We have one but we put it in when we developed the property so cost was minimal. We did it ourselves.

I am on a municipal sewer system. I have an RV dump next to my driveway. It is simply a 4" ABS lateral teeing from the sewer line to my house with a screw in cap. I would imagine most counties would require a backflow prevention valve somewhere in the line if the elevation of the plumbing in your house is higher than your dump. As for cost, that depends on the cost of county permits, where and how deep your sewer line is, and the cost of hiring a backhoe if you need one. The pipe and misc plumbing parts are pretty cheap.

Really depends on how close or far away you need to be for easy TT access to the dump connection Don. Think my run is around 20', just abs pipe and a few fittings, maybe $50.00.

I installed one a couple of years back. I had a natural slope to where my septic tank is so digging wasn't to much of a problem except where I had to tie into the sewer line on the inlet side of tank. Then with a 4" Y" I used 2 -4 inch, rubber Fernco repair couplins to tie into the sewer line then with 45 degree angle and 90's made my way off lawn area to where I got the dump line above ground. From there it was a 80 foot run to where I wanted my dump station. Cost was about $150 with all the parts. OH YEA I used only schedule 40 PVC because it was mostly above ground.

Septic systems are often installed with a clean-out on the inlet side between the tank and the house. The clean-out is necessary in the event that the plumbing gets clogged and Roto-Rooter type unclogging is in order. My septic tank is toward the back of the house and slightly uphill, so I was unable to extend the plumbing to create a “dump station.” My solution is to utilize campground dump stations when possible, but I did purchase a large “blue boy” made by Barker Mfg. and if I don’t dump the tanks before returning home, I dump them into the Barker (which is stored in the shed rather than the garage!) and drag it to the septic clean-out. It adds an extra step in that the Barker needs to also be rinsed out, but it does allow me the flexibility of dumping at home.

Sewer Solution might also be used if the trailer is some distance from the sewer line.

I happened upon a new Sewer Solution at a local thrift shop. I can park my trailer about 30 feet from a sewer line clean-out so I bought a good 25 foot 3/4 inch hose and use that and the Sewer Solution to dump my tanks. Works great.

I have dump station at home. Got the best price available. FREE, son-in-law is a plumber.

When we had our house construction started in 1996 I requested a sewer dump for the septic system. Came one day to check progress on the house construction and found the dump already in. Had I been here when it was installed I’d have had it in a different spot. It’s useable but could be a bit more convenient. It was easy for the pickup camper because I could back right up to it but not quite so easy for the trailer. Just a little too far for conceits the hose.

+10 A well placed clean out can serve double duty. I happen to have a clean out along my driveway, on the driver's side. Pretty much perfect as a home dump station. I even have a water hose connection a couple of feet away.

Our septic tank cleanout is about 35 feet from the driveway. I modified a small 1/2 HP garbage disposal and use it to grind and push the tank contents through a 50 foot long 3/4 inch hose. When empty I feed clean water in then unscrew the hose and walk it to the cleanout.
