We paid cash for our
casita...we had about a three hour drive to go see it, we had a long talk with the owner before We drove up, so we made a time to meet in two days..got the cash from our bank, drove up, looked it over and it was the one. The price was acceptable so we drove to town to the department of motor vehicles. Made the payment there, paid our sales tax, the owner signed off on the
title and we completed paperwork with the state....we all drove back to the storage yard and got our new trailer.
We didn’t feel weird about paying cash as the transaction took place at a state office.
I guess if your state doesn’t charge taxes and transfer fee it might be different, but this worked for us in California. we were happy that the seller was so easy to work with. He had supplied us with lots of photos, several that we specifically requested...perfect transaction...
