They say it might help to weld an A frame on the front so we can attach a weigh distribution system and sway bars. That is our final solution; trying these other ideas first. Heading out next weekend!
We tried a Blue Ox weight distribution hitch from eTrailer.com. There is a bolt-on T-bar onto which the arms of the hitch connect via chains. This hitch is then compatible w/ single spar frames, and also with surge type hydraulic brakes.
As for sway control, it worked very well. The problem we encountered is that the whole system hangs below the hitch/frame line, reducing the already poor ground clearance. This is not a defect of the hitch, but rather a misapplication. We removed it.
I then replaced the hitch/brake unit with one from eTrailer, one that adds at least 10" to the end of the tongue. (https://www.etrailer.com/Brake-Actua...le/DX27FR.html) If this didn't work, I was going to add a folding hitch and 12" more length as well. As it turns out, the new longer hitch worked very well & I don't feel the need to add any more tongue length. Luckily, there was enough brake line and electric cord slack that was available to make this addition work w/o replacement or modification.

We do load the trailer with a bias towards the front, and keep the speed under 65. We just did a trip up the mountains and back, with a bit of freeway included and there was no sway whatsoever in 300+ miles in varying conditions, including crosswinds.

So, my 2 cents is - save your money on a WDH - unless you can find one that doesn't consume ground clearance - and change out the hitch connection for a longer one.

Would love to get a manual though. Will check these links.

Bill in W. Canada

Have you been to the official Hymer group page? They have a general Hymer manual and individual manuals for each of the systems.

A couple more pictures : added 2nd battery and selector switch; replaced hokey hitch/brake controller with longer, much improved version - lengthened tongue 10" - much improved towing stability, don't need WDH (also switched to pickup for TV)

Blue Ox weight distribution hitch - effective for sway and leveling, but was unacceptably low - very little ground clearance. Shout out if you want it - very heavy to ship tho...

Doug VP - thx for the tongue/brake actuator info. - i may have to go that route. i added a spare tire to increase tongue weight. already had the push/pull bar so just added a bracket. I also moved the battery/propane a few inches toward coupler. i have not tested sway since - so i'll see how it performs.

for others - sorry it took so long to get pics of the a/c duct changes but been a bit busy.
here they are - showing duct tape sealing of plenum to the inside/ changed attachment plates and new duct feeds/new 60mm and 3 inch ducts going up alongside sink drain/ 60mm duct to existing outlet and new 3" directable outlet above the drain access panel.

Electrical help needed

Hi I’m new to the group so not quite sure if I’m in the right place. We bought a work in progress 2019 hymer gt touring trailer from the manufacturer bankruptcy sale in Kitchener Ontario. We have everything in place except the wiring and plumbing. If anyone has a wiring diagram or could take a pictures it would really help us out. We are kind of stuck.

Are you on the Hymer Facebook group? There's info on the KS2 inverter/charger (in the Files section) but we never found a factory wiring diagram. Pretty sure the Hymer Aktiv folks have a diagram for the vans. They share a few components and might be somewhat helpful, but obviously they are very different.

No, but the AC controller appears to be a much simpler (non-proprietary??) deal.

Mobile Climate Control is the outfit that designed and built the GT's AC system. In the AC document (files section of the FB group...) they call it the MVC DIGITAL CONTROLLER. Looks like a pretty generic part. Or at least the sort of thing you could find a generic substitute for.

More info in the doc Air Conditioner - T384.pdf on the FB group. I tried to attach it here, but it's too large. Hope that helps.
