I-10 New Mexico Closed Today Las Cruces to Lordsburg

I-10 is closed between Las Cruces & Lordsburg today due to Wind & Dust Conditions. Also Highway between Deming & Columbus is Closed. Wednesday April 17, 2013.

Not a Pretty Day in the Least! Yep, it is April in the Southwest.

Seems it should be Open tonight (Wind to clam down SOME). Less Wind tomorrow, I believe. Should be Open, but sill with wind, not as strong.

Some gusts in neighboring towns has been 65 to 69 MPH. Not quite that hard in Cruces. Strong enough at any rate. Peak Quest were about 55 MPH here.

Seem to getting stronger about now.

We're having Tornado watches until 11 pm tonight.

Slight risk for us.....but no telling. 80 degrees today with high tomorrow am to be in mid-60's then kaboom the front hits with high wind, thunder, lightening, and all that stuff. You Oklahomans be safe, also you Kansasities (are those words?) We wait for spring so we can see the red buds, dog woods, morels, and growing grass with an "eye to the sky" and the ears to the weather radio. Be safe!
