Trailer: 30 ft Hawaiitchiker 5th Wheel (sold my Bigfoot)

I'm thinking about selling our 84 egg, and buying something
a little bigger, with a slide. How is the market for FGRV's today?
Any suggestions on a ballpark figure to ask for it?
It is in good shape for its age, new H/W heater and converter and
roof A/C within the last 2 years.
Someone give me some hints on where to start the asking price.
Thanks,
Tom

Link to list of all "Sold Archive" posts containing "Bigfoot"
This may be a starting point. Just separate out the 17' units from the rest and average the prices and you may be in the ballpark...

Selling prices are typically lower this time of the year because there are fewer people looking to purchase a trailer. $$ is being spent for holiday giving and travel to visit Grandma. Depending on the area of the country too, many folks don't camp until Spring, so don't want to winter over a trailer they can't (won't) use. If you're willing to wait until closer to camping season and if the trailer is then ready for "tow and camp," with few if any maintenance issues to be done, you'll be able to get top dollar for the age/brand and selling area (depending on the trailer condition... of course).

Flip side is that you might get a better deal on your new trailer now. Can you afford to own two trailers for a few months?

Donna,
That is what I thought, of course, the other side of that is now is the time to buy. The BigFoot is paid for, and I really don't need to sell it right now, so I think I will try and get it cleaned up a little and move all our junk out of it. Then just wait and see what happens. Maybe someone will come along
that just has to have one.
You know how it goes, at least twice a month someone has stopped and ask if we would sell it, now that we want too, no one will ask.
Thanks for the input.

Good idea to get it ready to sell Tom. Just like when buying one... gotta be ready when the right one comes along. Certainly wouldn't hurt for it to be up for sale now, cause you never know! Maybe someone wants one from I can imagine it would make a wonderful gift! Oh wait, I do know that. I purchased my Scamp just before Christmas and it was the best gift I've ever given myself

Then again, here in Florida, it's prime camping season. The gnats and the mosquitos are gone, temps are down, and the snowbirds are vying for all our local spaces.... If we're lucky enough to get one, we're out camping!
Good luck with selling your trailer, now or in the spring. I'm sure you'll make someone very happy.

If I still have it next winter I will bring it down and show it to you, long as I can park
at your house.
