I pulled the trigger

I pulled the trigger, again! I have, for some time, been looking for an egg larger than my 13' Perris Pacer and with possibly a bathroom. Today I lucked into an '85 Casita 16 with bath!!
I know absolutely nothing about Casitas, so I will be asking lots of questions!
First question would be, if anyone has pictures of their door hinges. What is there is broken, but I'm not sure they are the proper ones.
Any help would be very appreciated!

Gotta love these old (I mean vintage) gals!

Congrats! So what color carpet? I had a "85" for a few weeks, with the blue carpet selection . I think it was MaryF who suggested a retro decor, disco ball and all............ Would have been fun to decorate, but a few weeks later I actually found a newer one which I was looking for....

Do post pic's! I think you will have a great time with the "85". Does yours have the bunk/couch set up? I really liked that set up! Sorry I don't have pic's of what the hinges looked like, but others will........... Enjoy!

Good for you Vicki! I know little about the vintage Casitas. Yours is only about the third production year. If I remember right the hinges are really different. That doesn't mean they can't be changed to something newer and different. Hopefully someone with a classic will pop in.

Pictures?

Thanks ladies!

Robin - it has the beige carpet on the walls, and seems to be in pretty good shape, a little elbow grease and some carpet cleaner will tell the tale! Looks to have the original upholstery also... who knows.

The lady I bought it from has had it only a short time, doesn't know what works or doesn't, but the title has the last owner's name, so I will try to contact them this week.

Oh cool! A carpet cleaner with a upholstery attachment will do wonders!

That's great! Have your bearings packed, make it what you want and get out and enjoy it!

I would contact Casita (service department) about the hinges. They're probably using something different now, but it might still work; and if not they might be able to tell you what they used. Either that or do a search here (use the google search option). I'm sure there have been discussion about hinge replacements on older Casitas.

Note: newer 17 ft Casitas have standard RV doors; but I think they're still putting the curved "aircraft style" doors on the 13s and 16s.

Good luck with it and let us know what you find out, please!

Well I went and picked this egg up today, and to my surprise...the title says it is an '89 model - an even better deal for me!!
