I'm going to be selling my 16' Scamp

Hi all. I'm going to be listing my 2016 16' Scamp, and before I list it, I'm trying to get a good idea of its market value. Since there are so few for sale anywhere I can find, I thought I'd ask here! It's a Layout 4 in excellent condition with some amenities added. Any ideas of what it's worth?

That actually sounds pretty close IMHO.. Mine is a 2015 #4 and thats about what I would want. Depends on options also like A/C, furnace, etc. And of course condition is the most important thing. Depending on condition a fair price could be as little as $500.

You can also check comps at https://www.fiberglass-rv-4sale.com/scamp-trailers-sold

It's in excellent condition and it has roof A/C, a factory furnace, dual fresh water tanks, dual propane tanks, a solar panel that directly feeds the battery. Thanks for everyone's input. I was wondering because I see some much older for around this same price. Oh, and I'm on the west coast.

If you feel it is worth more, you should ask more. Ultimately the market will decide.

It would be good to get a price on a new one, similarly equipped, directly from Scamp. Could help answer buyers questions. Not all buyers realize many things are options (cost extra) on the Scamp. GLWTS.

But you will also need to adjust for the options that Scamp does not offer, like the solar system.

I am considering putting my 2014 #6 most options accept awning, but i will offer a clam 660 screen room. I do not get out enough to justify it. I plan on asking $16,500. New one is about 20 now with options i have. There is only about 5000 miles on it, and that includes the trip to pick it up at the factory. Still not sure yet. Carl

I had to sell my BF 19 last summer.

My recommendation is to look at the this forum’s Marketplace to check out the asking prices of other Scamps. There’s asking price & selling price. So, PM sellers of sold Scamps around the age of yours (2012-2016) and ask what the got for their trailers.

Also, log onto “Fiberglass-RV-4Sale” and check out their current trailers 4-sale, as well as their “sold” section. They are organized by manufacturer.

If you are not a member, definitely join Fiberglass-RV-4Sale. It’s a great site, and doesn’t charge for advertising.

By the way, you can cut n’paste from all these ads to put together a compelling ad for yourself.

Price points are an art. You want it low enough to attract buyers, but still have room to be able to negotiate.

Definitely check out thread “Best method for accepting payment” on this site. It will give you some great ideas for arranging payments that will protect you & your buyers interests. I suggest this as you need to agree upon method of payment at the beginning of your discussions, not as an afterthought.

If you are a member of auto club, call them to confer on the sale of your trailer. They can give you links to DMV change in ownership & sale forms, give you advice for handling out-of-State transactions, and things to beware of. If you don’t belong to Auto Club, set some time aside & call DMV.

Best to have all your ducks in order before you talk to your first potential buyer.

You have a great looking trailer. Best of luck!

Thanks everyone! I priced it at $16,500 to take into account all the add-ons, but I'm open to offers! I appreciate everyone's feedback!

Hi Leslie, where are you at in CA? As a point of reference, I just purchased a 2013 16ft layout 4 in ‘like new’ condition for $12500.00
