Yes it as big as the continental United States in area, but because of the way it is shaped it takes longer to get to parts of Australia. An example a trip from Melbourne to Perth, is about the same as going from New York to Honolulu , Hawaii,

Now I know what I want to be when I grow up. A Grey Nomad!!
Will have to try it in the US, or South America tho. Can't paddle as far as Australia! Scamp would probably make it, add sails, etc, but I may not.
