interesting older fg trailer

one of the perks of camp hosting is seeing unique rigs including a few fiberglass. this one rolled thru the camground a few days ago. it's a nineteen seventy seven leo craft produced in manitobia. the owner told me it's "officially" a 17' however i don't think that included the tongue. this is a big trailer. pretty cool tho with an amazing solar system.

For others general info, I own a 1981 Leocraft 26" motorhome built on a Dodge chassis. From what I remember or have hear, the Leocraft line (I didnt' know they built Leocraft trailers as well as MH) was the very top end of their product line and hence was named after the original company owner or president, whos first name was Leo ?. Bit heavier than typical of the year, BUT build VERY well, and in my case had features not common in lower end units, In my case this included as stock a engine fed rear heater, hot water heater fed by the engine coolant exchanger, and even a built into the counter top end blender/processor from that era.

It's not handy local right now and given our weather will be "buried in snow at my relatives acreage. I'll see if I have some old camping photos of it, and if so scan and post but this will take me a while. I've not used it regularly for about 5 yrs and as it had been converted to propane power back in the '80's it needs a full recertification to be used. I've recently retired and trying to decide to refurbish her or not. My wife's resisting as she's lost interest (somewhat) in camping at all, preferring to play grandmother etc LOL
