Joshua Tree - We've got lots of rocks!

Here's a little preview for those of you who plan to visit the park this month and a view from our yard for all.

I am having a terrible time getting photos to upload -it keeps telling me the photo is too large even though i have downsized it and the pixels are reduced, don't know what i am doing wrong. Was going to also post a picture of some of the old ranch ruins at Ryan. If someone can help maybe i can get the pictures posted.

Roberta - Your compression rate (when you save as JPEG format) should be about 60 percent. That's still high quality, but not as large a file. (Overall file size needs to be less than 80k, so images will load quickly for those trying to view them, not take up too much space on the photo server, etc.)

If you've got your pixels down to 500 wide (or use 500 for the height, for a vertical shot) and your dpi (dots/pixels per inch) at 72 (100 works okay, but not necessary), then the only other thing to watch is that compression rate.

For what it's worth, I generally set reduce to 450 pixels wide (or tall). Send me a private message (or e-mail) if I can be of more help.

Thanks for persevering!

Wow

All these wonderful views. That's why I have a TT. Could never decide just which one I like the best. I think it's where ever I am at the moment.

Nice shots.

A lovely view

Lex, A lovely view, but I don't think I am going to walk out on that ice just yet. A few more days of of -10C weather would make me feel *much* safer!

Did anyone see the recent (I think it was recent) about the fellow who drove his truck out on a frozen, snow-covered pond thinking it was a parking lot? They got him out just seconds before the truck went under. Scarey stuff.

Thanks Lex:

We winter in Mesa, Az and often take visitors to Sedona and other places. Pictures taken with an older Olympus C2000Z 2.1 megapixel digital camera. I use to maintain an extensive group of albums on PhotoPoint (they went belly up) but haven't posted on any other phto sites lately.

We also like Lake Havasu and the London Bridge

Hi Chester,
Now I can show how limited my knowledge (of the semantics) of the English language is: I don't understand the sentence. :helpme

I know, :jump-r I know. first off Ches left out the commas so that could be the reason you are having trouble. *I just checked in, at 3:00am, a Dutch Couple.* he works for a hotel.
