I have to work, but have reservations June 4-8th at Ike Kinswa state park.. providing the weather will be nice...
Even with gas hitting right at $4 per gallon I am surprised at the traffic that is out there on the freeways...
I guess we all cant sit home all the time... Thing is to "save' for those scamping-camping trips!...

what are you doing this weekend??

Here in our area, gas went up yesterday to $3.99 a gal. I've spent the last few days washing our egg inside and out, buying new rugs, new placemats, new pillows and yesterday put the cushions in along with the 2 memory foam mattresses and made up the rear bed complete with a duvet and pillow shams. For an outing this past winter we drove to West Virginia (3 hours in a snow storm) to Cabela's and purchased a pair of those reclining camp chairs and can't wait to try them out around a warm campfire!

I have everything ready to go (3 days at Pymatuning State Park in Pennsylvania) and have been watching the weather and I can't tell you how excited I am it's going to (finally!!) be nice and in the 60's/70's this weekend and cool/cold at night. We're so excited about our 2nd camping trip in our 'new to us' 16ft U-Haul (bought just last September) I suggested to my husband last night over dinner that since I was ready and packed, I could drive up today and get set up - and he could come up after work tomorrow...THAT didn't go over very well!!! He said "I don't think so...you're not starting without me!!"

This weekend has been booked since mid February!! Think we're just a bit excited it's finally here??

We have 4 other weekends already booked (Father's Day weekend, 4th of July, 11th of July, Labor Day) all within a 45min to a 2hour drive from home due to the gas prices. Here in NE Ohio summer is so short and we have to take advantage of every weekend - we have November to April to save up for Summer!!

Whatever you do this weekend, enjoy being with friends and family - spending time together make weekends worth looking forward to!

nope. I want to, but it's going to be crazy here.. no doubt.

altho.. it is actually snowing lightly here now! After a week of near 100 degrees, overnite.. white stuff. Might keep the tenters away.

We'll wait and see. I hadn't really "prepped" for a camping trip, but, with a FGRV, not much prep is needed!

We're passing on this weekend. Last Memorial Day was a bit zooish.
We just got back from one recently and have a week trip in June, then we'll be Scampin the entire month of July to see what it will be like to be out that long. So we're gonna enjoy home this weekend.

Nope, I just got here, and plan to enjoy the beach this weekend. One non-trailer trip into Seattle on Friday is all.

We tend to let those who can not camp execpt at holidays have at it, but soon after we will be.

I was looking on line for something else and found this bit of bad news: Fire Closure - Lincoln National Forest - Effective: May 1, 2008, at 8:00 a.m.

http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/lincoln/

I'd been thinking about going up that way. To sad. It is really a dry year here in New Mexico. The high winds of late have not helped it at all. We need some RAIN. Badly.

Just got back from our Chaco Canyon - Mesa Verde - Durango - Grand Canyon trip! More on that later, but let me say:

The Grand Canyon is a human zoo! Reservations required! The RV park just outside the south entrance is an overpriced/non-maintained/out-of-order place (much more on that later), so go for the National Forest campground two miles further south.

If you're coming to Myrtle Beach you better get moving now! I think everyone is here already! Traffic is already getting heavy coming from the west to the beach.

I'm glad I gassed up coming to work this morning...$3.71/gal.... same station on the way home this evening is $3.78!

What sucks is at this rate, when I'll need to gas up after this weekend, it'll probably be over $4! And you all may think we got it cheap but please remember we don't make near as much as most places.

I'm camping in my backyard this weekend.
Which is actually a GOOD place to camp...

We are going. We're heading to one of the local state parks about an hour from home. Kanaskat-Palmer is the name. Had reservations for a couple of months now and was kind of surprised to get them that late. Neat thing is that about 10 miles away at the county fairgrounds is a VW car show and swap meet also this weekend so I get to combine both my passions in one trip.

Robert and I are going to Palm Springs this weekend with the Fiber Stream. Staying Friday night with one couple of friends who take care of a Snowbird RV Park... We'll have most of the property to ourselves, (dibs on the Jacuzzi) and free space rent.

Saturday night we will move to another couple's driveway, to help with the big party they are throwing on Sunday. Plan to spend most of the weekend in the pool.

I'm off to Birch Bay State Park tomorrow. I guess I'm one of "those" peeps camping on a hellish weekend. Oh well, a campground can only be so full right? Can't be any more full than full I am coming home Sunday though to avoid the road crowd on Monday. Wayne, have a great time, I'd love to go to the VW show. I bought my boys each one of those pocket rocket fishing rods last Christmas and never gave them to them. Think I'll break them out this weekend and watch them shoot fish hooks at each other and any other poor souls that get too close!!

We'll be staying home, sort of. (Besides, on a holiday weekend, we have more elbow room at home, here in the forest by our lake.) We're going to have a garage sale on Saturday, then we'll go canoeing, or maybe drive down to Homer and look for eggs, and later on Monday we're thinking of a picnic and beach walk at the state park nearby, after most folks have gone home. Probably start painting the house, too, (sigh) at least the lower parts, before the ferns and stuff get too tall. Gas hit $4.349 today, the first day after school let out.

Not camping this time, but going to a dulcimer gathering in the woods of MO. Will, however, be working on the Play Pac on Monday.

You'll find Anne and myself at Indian Henry Campground along the mighty Clackamas River about 24 miles above Estacada.

Visitors welcome.

well, the weatherman will keep the campgrounds empty up here, including spaces potentially occupied by nifty non leaking RVs.

I gots snow! Not much, but at my elevation, I can just imagine the towing hassles involved with going where I wanted to, which takes me over and 8300 ft pass. Campground is down on the other side at 7000 ft, but I still gotta get over the big hump to get there.
