Is there a checklist for EggCampers - before camping?
Hi, all. We just got our EggCamper back from the repair shop. Our misadventure driving it home had caused some damage in the wheel surround area. . . When the monsoon in northern Alabama is passed, I'll take some photos so I can show the before and after. . .
I think we have everything lined up to take the Egg out on a trip, but wondered if there was a checklist for EggCampers somewhere - for before you go camping, and what to do when you get to the campsite. [I know there is a checklist for "before you buy" somewhere on this site.] I am a complete newbie, remember, and may not have my husband along. . . May just be "me and my dog!"
I thought I would take it to a nearby site the first time out. . .
Thanks for all the help you have given in this forum. I really appreciate it!

The first time that I pulled away from our camper with pigtail still attached to my truck, my wife insisted that I create some lists. This is what I came up with.

When you have your checklist as you like it ( personalized for your trailer ), get it laminated and keep it near the door.

There are arrival and departure checklists available in the Miscellaneous Documents section to the Document Center.
Click on the 'More' tab at the top of the page and select 'Document Center'. Miscellaneous Documents is a bit more than halfway down the page.

When leaving a campsite, look at the upper part of the trailer (such as windows closed and straps on awning) look at the lower part (such as steps and stabilizers) and look at everything on the hitch, then pull out and look at those again and the whole campsite. That is after making sure that everything inside is in order. It is a long list!

I did some time as a corporate pilot and a flight instructor... so the first time I departed in my scamp and lost the exterior cover for the fridge I went ahead and made myself a departure checklist.

Remove the wheel chocks last. After everything else, complete hook-up, unplugged from shore, pets in crates in the tow...remove chocks LAST.
We rolled Peanut down the slight driveway slope right up against the house when Paul took the chocks off before hooking to the car. There was literally NO stopping it--and this is a very slight slope!
