Jim dropped off his little
Burro, now Sunny side UP!, yesterday. I am hoping he made it back OK because there were heavy snow warnings for Minn last night.
I have had such fantastic support from this group that I thought you might be interested in our progress as the adventure commences.
I thought I preferred a
Uhaul trailer because they seem to be constructed more solidly, but I am finding a list of reasons that Sunny is better than the Uhauls that I tried to buy:
- Fiberglass insulation between the shells

- Brakes! (just ordered a Prodigy controller to add to the Frontier)
- Vented Catalytic heater instead of propane furnace
- two way frig instead of icebox (when I get the propane leak and electrical issue fixed)
I also ordered a Shurflo C.A. Gold vent fan to replace the noisy vent because of the low current draw and ceiling fan option (thanks to Chris and Cherie at Nomadic Serendipidy -
http://www.radven.net/index.html - for that info)
List of projects:
Repack bearings and check
brakes
Vinyl sign for spare cover from my Sunny logo design
Replace side window, maybe both, with
awning vent
windows
Test and upgrade 12V electric system
Clean and shine exterior
fiberglass
new Lock-strip on exterior seam
Repair frig
Add composting toilet
purchase Blue Boy for gray water
New cushions (newly washed and patched covers will work for now)
Replace "carpet" over center seam with insulating material
The list goes on...pictures will be posted!
The info at this site is worth $1000s? Thanks to all!
