It Snowed

I had an Ag Istructor who said you needed a little snow on the oats.

The snow looks really pretty, but I'm sure that last nudge from old man winter was less than welcome this late in the year!

We got about 6 inches up here in Northern MN overnight. I was hoping it was done for the season.

Snow wont do the oats any good when they are still in the grainery as mine and most others are.

Global warming. This is Al Gore's fault, right?

I even saw two snowmen today. Man!

I called my son in Wisconsin. He did say the ice finally went off the lake and they are now using boats and not vehicles to fish from.

The poor Decorah eagles looked miserable today. Both parents were in the nest trying to keep the little ones warm this AM. The eaglets did not try to move around while I was watching them today. They were happy to stay warm under Mom and Dad.

Somebody take Greg out for such outlandish temps!

Haven't been watching the eagles today but my husband brought me a nice trout home. He got it north of Seed Savers on North Winn Rd. Almost 16". Most likely one that over wintered after being released. Nice and firm for cooking.

Woke up this morning to the sun and green grass. Not very warm. Husband waited until after breakfast to go turkey hunting. Went out and looked at our little garden plot (wildlife foodplot). Not even up and it already has deer tracks in it. The hostas are just inching up behind the house which means they may have to grow back several times until it's decided that Dog can stay out at night.

Cool 92 degrees AND $2.80 gas

Greg, do you pop down to old Mexico for some of that $2.60 per gallon gas, too?

No , The closest crossing is at Presidio, Tx that's pretty far for me and I kinda like my head.
