Well, I spent about 30 minutes in the chair last night, and by that time my back was hurting and my legs were tingling. So this is obviously not the chair for me.

I really did want to like this chair, because it feels very well made, but with those results, I'm better off keeping my cheapo big box store chair for now.

So the chair will be shipped back tomorrow, and the hunt continues for a comfortable chair.

Jim, we put in our initial Escape order for a 17B, having never even been inside a fiberglass RV of any sort. Shortly thereafter, we went to a local Egg gathering and hung out in an Escape 19, a Casita 17 and a Scamp 13 and 16.

We quickly realized that we did not like the carpet on the walls/ceiling of the Casita and Scamp, so were glad that we had decided on the Escape.

We kept the 17B on order until about a month before our build sheet was due, and then decided that we really wanted the 19 so upgraded our order, and now that we have it, are thrilled that we changed our minds.

The 17B would have been fine for us for now with the shorter trips that we take, but when we retire we would have wanted more room.

We just bought a pair of GCI outdoor freestyle rocker chairs for $50 each delivered. They are a bit heavier and perhaps a bit more cumbersome to store than some folding chairs.

They also need to be placed on pretty level ground; if the ground slopes away in front of you, you tend to feel like you are going to pitch forward.

That said, we recently used them for ten days on the road and are quite happy with them. Just another option...

Excellent point, and I realized our chairs have the opposite problem--if the ground slopes away behind us at all, Paul can barely get out of the chair and I need his help to get out of mine.
So we've learned to watch that ground slope. Still...they're tricky.

Soooooo, next time we deploy these things, I'll ask Paul to place two of our plastic jack stand pads under the hind legs. Voila!

Fred is 5’8” and I am 5’2”. We first ordered the larger Strong Back. It was too large for Fred and impossible for me. We gave it to taller relatives and ordered the smaller one. I find it comfortable. I don’t think Fred has sat in it much so can not say what he thinks.

DH and I have bad backs so I ordered us 2 prior to taking delivery of our snoozy. Found mine worsens my sciatica. My feet dont reach the ground when sitting in it. A hassock helped when I could put my feet up but its not teally comfortable. I wanted to like it, I really did. But I dont.

UPDATE:

Since I last posted on this thread in 2016, we stopped at Camping World on the way to the Washington coast for our last trip of the year and sat in every possible chair. We bought two 300-pound limit "Summit Chairs" in gray and black.

A bit spendy but VERY comfortable and strong. And they more or less match. I made two carry bags with handles out of an old roll of upholstery fabric, too.
