Now that we are the proud owners of a new 2009 13 ft. Trillium, I anticipate wanting a generator at some point. Right now I get the feeling that quality is worth waiting for when the funds are available. It also seems like the generators of choice are the Hondas and Yamahas, both pretty pricey. Is it worth it to wait and spend the money on those or do Kippor generators run as well and as quiet? I don't want to save $450 on a Kippor and wish I had been more patient and waited to afford a Honda. Are Hondas worth waiting for?....I guess that is the question....

Thanks, Lloyd

Send a message via Yahoo to Darwin Maring
Look around and see where U can get the Kipor serviced then look around and see where U can get the Honda serviced then save your $$ and get the Honda.

I think the new Yamaha 2000 would be a fine choice. I think the problem with the Kipors is parts and warranty issues. The shops close to home here stopped carrying them for that reason. Call and talk to wisesales.com and they can fit you with the right choice.
Just don't buy a home deep hole contractor loud generator, people will give you dirty looks when you pull it out.

wise sales

hummm I've yet to hear anyone complain loudly about a Honda, but other off-shore stuff is another story.

My son has a Kipor 1000, it has been good but it is not as quiet as my Honda 2000. He has to work adjusting it to keep it running smoothly as well and he is a good mechanic. Mainly you get what you pay on one of these. But it is much quiter than his other generator (5 or 6,000), small easy to lift up and move around and keeps his batteries charged and stores in a small area.

For the price, they are almost disposable (after a few year of course).

It is quiet, just not as quiet. People have asked about it when it was running (for being so quiet). Not too many have about my Honda (some in-laws have, wanting to get one), maybe they never heard it running at all.
