The camp ground called and said they are shut down because of the goverment shut down...no one can enter....I hope this is resolved quickly

The current word, as of 8AM PDT anyway, is that all National Parks, Monuments etc. are closed to new admissions and that current occupants have to vacate same by midnight, Oct 2nd. This apparently also includes most in-park Hotels, cabins etc.

Even if it is resolved today, all reservations are cancelled and will NOT be honored. It will then become "first come,first served".

At last years Scamp Camp we saw many attendees wearing apparel that referenced Land between the Lakes so for this geographically challenged boy from Wisconsin "Where Is Land between the Lakes located and what does it offer?

I read yesterday that if someone is already camping they will be given 48 hours to find an alternative place to camp.

The "www.recreation.guv" website which is the reservation system for National Parks, Army Corps of Engineer campgrounds, etc has a big "Web Site Not Available" message. Then a redirect to the USDA site which states that it may take some time for the site to become available again once funding is restored. Pretty sad all the way around.

We don't need a campground-for Halloween weekend our whole family-23 of us are camping at our daughters farmette.
They have 15 acres in the country-we will decorate with solar lights and glow sticks and scary stuff.
Costumes are required.
We will have a bonfire-cook hamburgers and hot dogs-tell scary stories and walk the path around the farm and pond-which will be lit with lights and spooks.
Some people will have trailers and some will be in tents.
This has always been so much fun for our family.
