I'm confused about this 'snow' of which you speak. Is it similar to beach sand?

Befuddled in Florida

LOL! Well, with the temps you had up there in the Panhandle last week I thought you may be in a better position to answer that question, lol. My kids asked why cant it snow in FL since we got down to 31 here near the coast. The only thing we can think of is the warmer ocean air keeps it from happening.

I remember one time when they shut down the schools in Miami so the kids could go outside and see the snow.

Don't ask when, as it was a long time ago.

We got 8" of snow before I got home in Decorah, IA. I came early so I could finish up a root canal. Yeah, don't ask. He mentioned that the snow blower was ready to go in prepartation for taking it back to Wisconsin. Right. I four wheeled into the garage and parked the jeep right next to it. And the way the days been going, he can get out there and use it again.

We are supposed to get up to 16 inches of snow today, blizzard conditions. My mail box is almost burried already. Melissa, can I join you in sunny Florida? Lucky are the people who are "missing" this "wonderful" season called Winter in the northern states.
We don't have to worry about bugs, cock roaches, huge spiders, snakes, crockadials, allagators, etc. We are just burried in snow.

Actually, the forecast calls for the temperature to drop down to around 14 on Monday evening in my part of Florida. After our 300% humidity and 500 degree (or so it seemed) August, this just isn't fair.

Then the Metro dome fell in. University of Northern Iowa will probably go at any minute too.

Our winter pix would be rain. It was 60 degrees in Portland, OR at 6am this morning. Pineapple Express going through! The last time it was 60 degrees was probably sometime the first of October. Should be 38-45 degrees. Screwy weather.

That's for sure. After our short fling with snow, it's been wet, wet, wet - and quite mild. (currently 10.2C at YVR, normal is about 6C. Also a rainfall warning in effect.)

They told us La Nina would give us a cool, snowy winter in this area. But, winter's not yet started, maybe it's still to come...

We cruised out to Wal-Mart today and met the road grader. Didn't look like he had been out on the side streets much which is unusual for our town. Had we been living in Sidney, MT and got this much snow we would have had to send the St. Bernard to the store.

A video of the Sarnia, Ontario storm that has trapped more than 300 vehicles.

The highway lies along one of the major U.S.-Canadian trucking routes, leading to the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, Mich. Burrr!

Thank goodness our Canadian weather is about through visiting us here in Florida. We woke up yesterday to a low of 23 and a high in the mid-40s (F). Tomorrow we are expecting a high of 70! I was starting to think that I should have winterized my egg and forgotten about it until March, but now I'm hoping for a couple of nice camping trips this winter.

My husband got back to our cabin in Wisconsin we are renting last night. The snow blew off the lake, over the house and landed where we park. The porch to the door was under 4' of snow. He didn't want to take the snow blower back yet because we will be in Iowa until after the first of the year but I think he is having second thoughts as he would rather ask someone here then in Wisconsin to clean the drive. Like his wife and son. I have four wheel drive and I know how to use it.
