Hi All,
Newbie here. Thinking of purchasing a Scamp or other Fiberglass rig
However I have never seen a Scamp or Casita or BigFoot in "person" and I am wondering if there are any upcoming 2007 Rallies scheduled for the Midwest?
Thanks

Hi Joanie, welcome to FiberglassRV we're glad you found us
Where abouts in the mid-west? To us in the Pacific NorthWet (today Pacific NorthFrozen), that's anywhere east of the Oregon border
If you can't find a meet close by, contact each of the manufacturers....they have a list of those who are willing to show their trailers on a referral program. And/or let us know where you are specifically....members on the forum might be in your neighborhood and will welcome you for a looksee
I also moved this to General Chat...hopefully you'll attract more readers.

Hi Joanie!
The "midwest" is a big place, but I've got a couple of Bigfoots you're welcome to see!

I have a 13' Love Bug in central WI that you could look at even though you will probably never see another one. It is very similar to a Scamp 13'.

Howdy,
I am located in Central Michigan, although I do plan to have my house up for sale
by March as my plan is to fulltime for awhile to determine where I want to permanently "hang my hat"
Thanks all for the response and the move in General Chat

Hello,
We live in west michigan and are redoing a burro. I know they have a get together south of Indy at Brown County national park in the early fall....

There is usually a get together in Indiana in May as well.
It's only January and already I have cabin fever.

Will this get posted in the rallies section ?
I am a "dog mom" and I walk everyday with my pup so my cabin fever is minimum but still will be happy to see Spring come around again

we have an event in Lanesboro Mn each fall, last year we drew 20 plus campers.
You are welcome to attend this fall. If you do not have a camper by then they have two cabins they rent, and you could join us below the hill for our activities.

This year the Indiana get together is in Illinois. See Roy's post elsewhere in this forum.

We have a 13' Burro in Chicagoland. However, it is currently covered and hibernating. We plan to probably wake it up for a trip in March.

We had never seen a Scamp, nor even knew of a Casita when we order a Scamp in March 2005, and we were extremely happy with it once we saw one, and love it now that we have it and have gone camping/travelilng with it. If you are planning on getting a new one, Scamp or Casita, they both have a fairly long waiting list to get on line, and it seems a Long Long wait after you order one. We ordered in March and it was finished in August. If ordering new, Scamp in Backus, MN is closer to you than Casita in Rice, TX. For us, Rice would have been much closer, but we didn't find out about Casita until after we had order the Scamp.
Casita makes a 17' which would be nice, but Scamp has the 19' 5th wheel which would make full timing easier. I know Casita has a list of people who will show their units if you give them a call. Perhaps, Scamp does as well. Call Scamp @ 1-800-346-4962 ask about getting a name to contact and ask for a Video of how they make Scamps, it is neat.
Call Casita @ 1-800-442-9986 to get a contact to view one.
Scamp is a little more retro in Looks, but is somewhat lighter, perhaps more head room, and is better insulated. You may also have a hitch reciever added to the Scamp at the factory, which was not listed as an option on their options list, but saw some at the factory when we visited it in June of '05 and had it added to ours to haul bikes, etc. Casita has larger holding tanks, fresh and grey and black, the bottom is also fiberglass and I believe you can get larger beds to name some differences.
Still have not gotten inside of a Casita myself but they seem be a very good product. As I mentioned Scamp is made very well.

Good Luck,
AW
