That first Alien movie was an incredible thriller. It immediately jumped to the position of my favorite movie. Just when I though everything was OK, it wasn't. The sense of being so far, far away, and so in trouble, the betrayal, etc. Yikes!

My two favorite Sci-Fi movies growing up were Jules Verne's 1954 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea with Kirk Douglas as Ned Land and the 1961 classic Mysterious Island with Herbert Lom as Captain Nemo and we remember him as Chief Inspector Dreyfus in the Pink Panther movies.
